The Scoop on The Scoop

This a blog that is intended to allow me to enlighten whomever may wish to be enlightened on my thoughts concerning things happening in the Spokane Valley. I like to give a shout out for new local entrepenoirs who are stepping out of ranks and going for it with a new business. In these times and in this state, every new venture is truly a bold venture and needs any attention it can get.

I have a special interest in the hospitallity business having run a niteclub/restauraunt in the Spokane Valley for 4 years called the Rock Inn at Sprague and Vista. It is a demanding business that took us at least 2 years just to start to get things figured out but we did learn a great deal about what not to do and few things about how to make money at it. We also met a lot of people and had a great time.

This blog is a way to let me talk about things like restaurant openings and reviews that I do not have space to put in our newsletter. Most of the space in the newsletter is taken up by a story profiling an interesting Valley business or individual. This is only a blog  not journalism, meaning it is top of the mind and off the cuff stuff. If I get some of the facts wrong it’s because I don’t spend much, if any, time researching. If you don’t like my opinion that’s fine, write your own blog . Just don’t write me a nasty comment and expect me to post it. I’ll read it and maybe email you, but then I’ll put it in the trash where it belongs.

You can check some of those stories out by going to this website. You can also subscribe to the newsletter there.

Boy. Some shout out you gave to the new local entrepreneurs at the Ref. Seems like your vision for this blog has taken a turn.

So glad I came across your article in the Current and followed that to your web-site and blog!! I worked with Elaine at Sea Galley and it brought back a lot of memories! (mostly fun). Like you I also stepped into the wonderful world of restauant owning and am happy to say after many years am now out and still sane! Keep up the great work!

I just read your “Two Columns joins Valley’s worldly little mile” column in the Current’s November issue. It was a great article but you forgot “Savanny Thai” at 11808 E Sprague. They have the Valley’s best Thai. If you have not tried it, go in and tell them Phad Thai and Cashew Chicken sent you. Great place.
